What is EFT and How Does it Work?
About the Emotional Freedom Technique
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a natural, powerful, easy to use healing technique. It combines the ancient healing art of acupressure with modern psychological principles to bring about emotional and psychological healing. It is a clinically proven method used in thousands of documented cases to relieve stress, trauma, anxiety, pain, addictions, phobias, sexual abuse, depression, PTSD, and numerous other distressing conditions.
Born in the early 1990’s EFT is a new technology that involves systematically tapping on meridian points on the body while verbalizing a troubling memory or negative emotion. Tapping on the meridian points sends electromagnetic impulses to the brain. When the brain receives these impulses while thinking about a negative event, memory or feeling the pattern of undesired emotional response gets interrupted. When the unwanted emotional pattern gets interrupted it allows for new neural connections to be formed. The end result is a release of the undesired emotions while retaining clarity of the issue.
The Discovery About Negative Emotions and Trauma
EFT is also based on the discovery that negative emotions and trauma get stored within our body. This creates an imbalance or disturbance in the bodies own energy system. It is this imbalance of energy that has a dramatic effect on ones emotional health and personal psychology. The good news is that by correcting these energy imbalances the negative emotions in most cases vanish for good.
Understanding the Bodies Energy System
The body’s energy system contains 14 major meridians that are all interconnected. This meridian system transports energy thru tiny pathways, much like arteries and veins transport the body’s blood. Every negative emotion we experience creates a blockage somewhere in the body’s energy system. A good way to look at this is when our blood vessels are broken we bleed, when our energy system is broken we experience negative emotion.
It is for these reasons that practicing EFT seems to bring about impressive, beneficial changes in a persons emotional state. These changes occur naturally often treating psychological problems not helped by traditional therapies.
Huge Secondary Benefits of EFT
Finally, huge secondary benefits of EFT come from practicing on a regular basis. In doing so you will gain increased joy, peace and clarity in your life. Everyday we carry within us a big sack of negative emotions and experiences that keep us stuck and drain our energy. As we peel away these negative issues forever, we experience increased energy and harmony because we are no longer distracted by the pain. We are naturally set free to begin realizing our wholeness and start living from our divine potential.
